Our Projects
At Rotary Stratford, we are committed to serving local and global communities through impactful projects that address critical challenges, empower individuals, and foster a sustainable future. Here’s an overview of our key initiatives:
Health Awareness and Advocacy

Stroke Awareness: Know Your Blood Pressure Day
Raising awareness about stroke prevention, we organise community health check-ups to promote regular blood pressure monitoring. These events help educate participants about the risks of high blood pressure and empower them to take preventive actions.

Diabetes Awareness
With diabetes becoming an increasingly common health issue, we organise awareness campaigns to educate communities about its risks, prevention, and management. These campaigns provide resources on healthy living, early detection, and the importance of regular health check-ups.

Mental Health Awareness Sessions
Promoting mental health is a key priority for our club. We organise interactive sessions with leading mental health experts to educate communities, reduce stigma, and provide support for those affected by mental health challenges.

Leprosy Control Program
Our comprehensive efforts to combat leprosy include:
- Active case finding for early detection.
- Bridging skills gaps by training female physiotherapists, shoe technicians, and ulcer dressers.
- Raising awareness that leprosy is curable if detected early.
- Campaigns to destigmatise leprosy and promote social acceptance of individuals affected.
- These initiatives aim to improve early diagnosis, treatment, and community understanding.

Polio Eradication
We are proud to contribute to Rotary International’s global fight to end polio. Our efforts include:
- Raising awareness about polio prevention.
- Actively participating in National Immunisation Days (NIDs) to ensure every child is vaccinated.
- Supporting global campaigns for a polio-free world.
Community Empowerment and Development

Raising Champion Children Initiative
In partnership with local organisations in Nigeria, this initiative serves underprivileged and street children by providing access to education, life skills, and basic necessities. The program is designed to empower children to break the cycle of poverty and become future leaders in their communities.
Key Features:
- Education and literacy programs.
- Access to healthcare and nutrition.
- Safe spaces for learning and development.

Homelessness Forum
Addressing one of society’s most pressing issues, the Homelessness Forum provides a platform for stakeholders—community leaders, service providers, and policymakers—to discuss challenges and explore solutions. The forum focuses on raising awareness, fostering collaboration, and developing strategies to combat homelessness in our communities.

Social Entrepreneurship Forum
This forum brings together social entrepreneurs, changemakers, and community leaders to share insights, strategies, and success stories. By promoting the concept of "business for good," we aim to encourage innovation, address societal challenges, and build sustainable solutions that benefit the wider community.

East London Community Heroes Awards
This annual flagship event honours individuals and groups who make significant contributions to their communities. Held in partnership with the University of East London, the awards celebrate diversity, community spirit, and grassroots leadership across Newham.

Project Management as a Life Skill
We empower individuals by teaching practical project management skills that can be applied in personal and professional settings. These workshops help participants develop leadership, time management, and organisational capabilities.

Human Centred Design for Social Change
Through these workshops, we equip individuals with the tools and mindset to design
innovative, people-focused solutions for social challenges. Participants learn creative
problem-solving techniques to drive meaningful change in their communities.

Rotary Public School Ladana
We support the Rotary Public School in Ladana, India, to provide quality education and create opportunities for underprivileged children. Our involvement includes funding, teacher training, and infrastructure improvements.
Youth Engagement and Leadership
Environmental Sustainability

Model United Nations (MUN)
We inspire and empower young people by organising Model UN events, where students simulate global diplomatic discussions. This platform fosters critical thinking, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of global issues among youth from diverse backgrounds.

Tree Planting
As part of Rotary’s commitment to protecting the environment, we organise tree-planting drives to improve air quality, increase green spaces, and combat climate change. These events bring together community members to take direct action for a sustainable future.

River Cleaning
Our river cleaning initiatives aim to preserve local waterways, improve ecosystems, and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Volunteers come together to remove waste and promote sustainable practices.
